DUO BONA FIDE
-Bona Fide is a classical guitar duo created in Havana, Cuba in 2011
-Formed by classical guitarists Carlos Vazquez and Lázara Luisa Diaz( Master of Music), both graduated from the University of the Music, in Havana, Cuba. They both live since 2013 in the State of New Jersey, United States of America.
-Vazquez and Diaz received master classes from some of the greatest guitarists of the classical guitar world such: Leo Brouwer, David Russell, Costa Cotsiolis, Wolfgang Lendle, Robert Ausel, Antonio Rodriguez, Ichiro Suzuki, Paolo Paolini, Victor Pelegrini, and others
-Their repertoire includes original music composed for guitar duo, arrangements of compositions made for other chamber instrument combinations, and music from Latin American and the world.
-Some of the composers they perform are: Bach, Marcello, Piazzola, Falla, Hernandez, Lecuona, Guerra, Duarte, etc……
Other Interesting Facts.
-Bona Fide Duo has performed regularly in different concert halls, guitar festivals in Cuba and in different cities in the United States.
-Performed on radio and television in native Cuba and United States.
-They performed in the first edition of the International Guitar Festival “Identidades” in Cuba created by the great guitarist and composer Eduardo Martin.
-They are artists supporters at the Board of Commissioners of Union City and currents artist performers at the Museum " William Musto Cultural Center" in Union City, New Jersey.
-Invited by the famous company “Ars Longa” to perform in the Historic Center of Havana Cuba.
-Bona Fide recorded their album "The freedom Eagle" with the Latin Grammy winner and 8 times Latin Grammy nominated composer and producer Yalil Guerra, President of RYCY productions, Inc.
-During 2022-2023 they were invited by Dr, Celil Refik Kaya to perform at " The Hispanic Heritage Month" in NJCU and to perform at the Public Library " Earl Morgan Branch" in Jersey City, New Jersey.
-Actually they have created their own Studio called" Bona Fide Music Studio" in 294 Ferry st, Newark, NJ, US.
-Performed at the CGS( Classical Guitar Society) in New York , 2024
-Artist performers at the " Andrew York" Festival in NJCU, 2024
